UNN To Hold Elections

Enugu- Following the expiration of tenures of her current Executives, the Faculty of Arts Students’ Association (FASA) of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka will, on Friday, June 16, 2017, hold her Elections for the election of her New Executives.

            In a Circular, signed by the Chairman and Secretary of Faculty of Arts Electoral Commission (FECO), an electoral body of the Students’ Union, only the qualified Aspirants  who were successfully screened by the electoral body are to commence electioneering campaigns in the Faculty while also urging them to desist from pasting posters and bills on unauthorized places. The Electoral umpire, however, warned that defaulters of this order would be disqualified before the election adding that campaigns would end at 2pm on Thursday, June, 15, being the manifesto day at the Faculty of Arts Lecture Theatre.

           The Circular, circulated in all the  9 departments of the Faculty, reads in part,
 ''…candidates are to commence their electioneering campaigns in the Faculty without pasting posters ''and bills on unauthorized places except approved Notice Boards in the Faculty. Defaulters are going ''to be DISQUALIFIED even before   the election''.

           A Breakdown of the information on the circular showed that Twenty-five (25) Aspirants will be involved in the election. The Post of President has Eze Joshua Chiagozie and Eze Odinaka Kingsley as aspirants, Post of Vice-President has  Ani Chinaza Maryann as the only aspirant, the Post of Secretary General has Amoke Emmanuel Chidera as the only aspirant, the Post of assistant secretary General has Peter Ogochukwu Nancy and Uwaoma Paschal Adimchinobi as aspirants, while the post of Director of Sports has Nnadi Christian Kasiebo and Ezema Emeka Basil as aspirants, post of Treasurer has  Ndukwe Uke Jackson and Obiesie Peter Arinze as aspirants. Others are the post of Financial Secretary with Onyeaka Uchenna Ambrose as the only aspirant, Post of Director of Socials with Okoro, Smith Chisom and Adanna Cynthia U. as aspirants, the Post of P.R.O with Igbo Cynthia Odinaka and Onu Shedrack Ejike as aspirants and the Post of Welfare Officer with Okoye Chinekwu Paul as the only aspirant.
